Unfortunately, losing loved ones and classmates to gun violence is a reality for those living in many Chicago communities. One role we play at our school locations is crisis support. This picture is of a beautiful child who was gunned down alongside her brother; she is a graduate of St. Sabina Academy. By failing to regulate the firearm industry, our federal and local governments leave our children at risk and put the huge burden of grief on the backs of our Black and Brown communities. We are so sorry for the family of Terri Player and every family who has had to grieve their child killed by senseless gun violence
